Solar for Internally Displaced Persons Camp (Solar for IDP Camp) is an initiative of GIFSEP; (Global Initiative for Food Security and Ecosystem) aimed at powering all IDP Camps in Nigeria with Solar. The insurgency and communal crises have displaced about 2 Million people who are taking shelter in Internally Displaced Persons Camp in different parts of the country and nearly all the camps are without electricity. Our goal is to provide clean energy access to all internally displaced persons across Nigeria by lighting up the IDP camps with Solar. We also train selected IDP’s with skills on installation and maintenance of simple solar systems.
