At GIFSEP, impact is driven by people; individuals whose leadership, learning, and expertise translate vision into action. In 2025, these team members exemplified what it means to grow with purpose while advancing community-centered climate solutions.
Leadership in Action: Joseph Ibrahim, Programme Manager
In 2025, effective leadership at GIFSEP meant building people as much as delivering projects. As Project Officer, Joseph Ibrahim played a central role in coordinating teams, guiding volunteers, and ensuring programmes reflected GIFSEP’s values of inclusion and community ownership. Joseph describes leadership as service…creating shared vision, communicating clearly, and empowering others to contribute meaningfully. His people-centered approach strengthened teamwork, accountability, and collaboration across projects.

Despite limited resources and challenging field realities, Joseph remained motivated by the visible impact of GIFSEP’s work among communities, young people, and Persons with Disabilities. Reflecting on the year, he highlights not only expanded programme reach, but the growth of leadership, commitment, and shared purpose within the team, evidence that GIFSEP is building capacity, not just implementing projects.
Strengthening Impact Through Learning: Dorcas Nicanor, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
At GIFSEP, learning strengthens impact and this year, Dorcas, our Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, deepened her professional capacity through postgraduate training in Public Health, strengthening GIFSEP’s evidence-based approach to climate and community development.

Her expanded understanding of the links between climate change, health, and data-driven decision-making has improved how projects are planned, monitored, and evaluated. By strengthening accountability and learning, her work supports more effective and sustainable interventions.
This milestone reflects GIFSEP’s commitment to investing in people. For Dorcas, it represents growth that enhances programme quality, leadership potential, and the organisation’s ability to deliver people-centered, data-informed climate solutions.
Data That Drives Action: Akintunde Akinmolayan, Field & GIS Expert
Behind GIFSEP’s field interventions is data that ensures action is targeted and responsive. In 2025, Tunde, Field and GIS Expert, strengthened project planning, community engagement, and reporting through accurate data collection and mapping.
His work involved mobilising communities, coordinating field agents, and mapping project coverage to identify priority areas. These insights supported evidence-based decisions and clearer communication of impact.

Key contributions included consolidating GIFSEP’s project data into visual infographics for the organisation’s 10year milestone and coordinating a baseline survey on waste management in Karu LGA, now guiding project implementation.Through data and mapping, his work continues to ensure that GIFSEP’s interventions respond to real community needs.
