At GIFSEP, volunteers are the lifeblood of our work. Their passion, dedication and drive for our mission, fuel much of our success. In this written interview, we speak with two remarkable individuals, who in different light share their experience working with GIFSEP. Damien, who currently volunteers with our Urban Farming program and Dorcas, a former volunteer who is now a full-time staff member.

Q1. Can you tell us what inspired you to volunteer with GIFSEP?
Ans:”I got inspired by the work done by GIFSEP through community engagement, especially improving the livelihood of farmer’s and building their capacities to ensure food security as well as training students as green champions to take responsibility for their environment”.
Q2: What has your experience in this space been like so far?
Ans: My experience has been awesome with alot of learning and relearning especially from the aspect of environment and renewable energy and networking with staff and other stakeholders in the space .
Q3: Any memorable impactful moments you’d like to share?
Ans: My most impactful moment is field work especially training farmers on climate smart Agriculture to ensure food security.
